Welcome to the Ottawa Sting U12AA tryouts!
First Session, Saturday, May 3rd:
Please arrive 45 minutes early and be completely dressed sitting in the changeroom 15 minutes before your ice time for the coaches to provide instructions to the team.
Jerseys
For those that need new jerseys, I will be at the arena by 9:45am on Saturday to issue jerseys to players. By now you should have either requested and paid for a jersey during registration or contacted me by email (equipment@ottawasting.com) with sizing details to request a new set. For those who have not yet paid, the $50 payment can be made in cash (exact change), or by cheque (to “Ottawa Sting Minor Hockey Association”) at pick up.
Intrasquad Games
The first day will be two intrasquad games. Please bring your black and white Ottawa Sting practice jerseys to every tryout as you might be asked to change colours.
Volunteers
We will need 6 volunteers for each game/hour to cover the following:

1x clock
-
4x doors on the benches - You will be assigned to the bench on the opposite team of your child and opposite position, you are not allowed to coach/instruct the players, just opening/closing the door for players

1x certified trainer, ideally with a kit that they can bring

Positions and Assignments
The coaches may ask your child to sit or to play a position (D or F) that may not align with your requested position in registration. Please note that your child will not be evaluated in that game if they are asked to move from F to D or vice versa. However, all players who indicated F will be evaluated whether they are assigned to wing or centre. Players will have ample opportunities to showcase their abilities.
Please note your players assignment below to a team/hour – some players are identified by name as we do not yet have numbers issued to these players as they will pickup their jerseys at the start of tryouts.
Changerooms
Each team will have a designated changeroom for each hour. Please use the appropriate room for your assigned team.
Parent Meeting
Note there will be a parent meeting at 10:15am. Please meet near the doors and we will find a place in the parking lot for a brief meeting with the coaches and liaison.

Numbers listed above are based on what was entered at time of registration. If you do not see your player's number or name listed above please contact me. Players who requested jerseys but had listed a number during registration, your old number should be listed above, your new number will be assigned Saturday at jersey pickup.
