Tryout Message from Coach Binks

Hello everyone
 
I want to welcome you all to the U15AA Sting tryout and thank you for registering your child. I hope everyone has had a great summer and had time to get some much-needed R & R.  For those of you that don’t know me, I Jesse Binks will be the head coach
of the U15AA Sting along with Dave Motz, my assistant.
 
The tryout process can be a stressful time for both players and parents, having been through this myself I do understand.  I want to assure everyone that is participating in this tryout, that the team will be chosen in a fair/equal manner with the guidance of my evaluators and the coaching staff.
 
We do have many athletes trying out and a small timeframe to work with, to choose the players that make up the team.  This will be a very busy time for the evaluators and coaching staff. 
 
I will be talking to each team 10 minutes before they go on the ice to give them some simple instruction on what is expected of them during the tryout.  
 
The plan this year for my tryout is the following:
 
GAME 1
 
Saturday August 24, 2024. Start: 9:00 pm
Ending: 9:50 pm

GOALIE EVALUATION
 
Sunday August 25, 2024. Start: 12:15 pm
Ending: 1:05 pm

GAME 2
 
Sunday August 25, 2024. Start: 5:00 pm
Ending: 5:50 pm
Location: Fred Barrett West (Leitrim)
 
GAME 3
 
Sunday August 25, 2024. Start: 6:00 pm
Ending: 6:50 pm

GAME 4

I WILL BE HAVING THE D OUT WITH GOALIES FOR THE FIRST 40 MINUTES, THEN THE FORWARDS WILL BE OUT FOR THE SECOND 40 WITH GOALIES.

WE WILL ONLY BE PLAYING AN HOUR GAME AS THE KIDS WILL BE TIRED AND HAVE BEEN ON THE ICE ALREADY THAT EVENING.
