Major Bantam AA are Kings of the Ice

The Major Bantam AA participated in the King of the Ice Tournament hosted by the Eastern Ontario Cobras Hockey Association in Rockland from November 1 to 3.  The team made it to the playoffs with a strong showing in the round robin with three wins and a shoot-out loss.  The team met the Nickel City Sons in the semi-finals, winning with a score of 5-0, and went on to play the Eastern Ontario Cobras, the hometown favourites, in the final.  With a final score of 2-0, that final was a nail-biter, that saw an epic save by goaltender Carter Walker.  A split second after a goal was called in the Sting net, Carter opened his glove to reveal the puck!  No goal!  You can imagine the cheers coming from the Sting bench and from the fans. It was a moment for the hockey books.  Congratulations to the Major Bantam AA for winning their second tournament gold this season.
