The Minor Peewee AA team have been declared playoff co-champions for 2019-20! Click the link to read the full articleThe team will share this distinction with the EO Cobras who they were tied with in the final series when the season was abruptly cancelled.
After a challenging first half of the season in a very competitive division, the Minor Peewee AA team had to fight hard just to make the playoffs. And that they did! With only two losses in the last two months of league play, along with a strong showing in The Cup AAA Championships in Buffalo in late January, Cam Potter's Minor Peewee AA team was firing on all cylinders heading into February. The team ripped right through the first two rounds of the playoffs, defeating two top-ranked teams (the Nepean Raiders and OV Silver Seven) in straight games, while outscoring their opponents 30 to 12.
The team then faced the #2-ranked EO Cobras in the finals. At the time of the season being cancelled, the Sting and Cobras were tied at 3 points each, as well as in virtually every category tiebreaker! In the end, HEO felt that both teams deserved to share the crown of 2019-2020 playoff champions!
The Minor Peewee AA team would like to extend its congratulations to the EO Cobras Minor Peewee AA team and, on more sober note, to wish everyone a safe spring in these unprecedented times.
