Hello Sting Families!

As we seem to have settled into a new normal (thank you for following the guidelines diligently and keeping everyone safe!), we felt it would be a good time to share a few updates:

Teams: We are continuing to examine all options for our program as the season progresses.  We are in communication with HEO, District and the AA/A and B Leagues regularly and are keeping up to date on the public health restrictions.  We are staying in our bubble format at this time because there is no indication that league games will be proceeding in the foreseeable future.  If a time comes where meaningful games are allowed, the executive will act and make decisions that we think are best for all of our members.

Ice: Although most bubbles have been assigned more ice than what was originally communicated at the beginning of the season, we have purchased additional ice which you will see assigned in the upcoming weeks.

Fees: With the additional ice time, and the season progressing nicely (without interruptions so far), we will be collecting the second installment sometime in January. Further details on date and amount to come shortly. The second installment will not be more than set out at the beginning of the year.

Health & Safety: As always, it is very important to properly complete your player’s health questionnaire before each team activity and to report any new or worsening symptoms to your trainers and / or managers. Trainers have, or will, send out requests to the bubbles to complete the epact health information (trainers please make sure you accept the administrator request and send through). Parents, it is important that your trainers have the most up to date health information available to them so please take the time to make sure the information is accurate.

Thanks to all bubble staff for getting their PRC in or for having started the process. For those of you that are still waiting on fingerprints please let Denis Staples, Vice President of Risk & Safety riskandsafety@ottawasting.com know as soon as this is done and when you’ve received your PRC.

Perks: Coaches will be distributing Pro Hockey Life cards (with discounts and free skate sharpenings) within the next couple of weeks!

Feel free to reach out to Tina Hill, OSMHA President president@ottawasting.com with any questions or concerns and let’s hope we can stay on the ice through the Holiday Season and into the New Year!
